Understanding Firm Settings

Understanding Firm Settings

Firm settings in Propel allow administrators to manage key configuration options that impact email sending, contact management, and user permissions. Below is an overview of each available setting and its purpose.

Double Pitch Prevention

Prevents a team member from sending a pitch again to a journalist who has already been pitched, within a set timeframe. You can choose from:

  • 30 Days
  • 14 Days
  • 7 Days
  • 2 Days
  • Disabled

This ensures journalists aren’t overwhelmed with duplicate outreach from your team.

Allow users to see manager and administrator dashboards

When enabled, non-manager and non-admin users can view higher-level dashboards. This is useful for providing visibility into team performance and results without granting full administrative privileges.

Adds an unsubscribe option at the bottom of every pitch or email sent. This helps maintain compliance with email marketing regulations and offers journalists a simple way to opt out of future communications.

Enable Contact Sharing

Allows all users within the firm to access and view shared contacts, rather than keeping them private to individual accounts. This promotes collaboration and eliminates duplicate contact creation.

Allow sending emails to invalid addresses

When enabled, Propel will attempt to send emails even if the address fails validation. This can be useful for certain cases, but it’s recommended to keep this disabled to maintain deliverability.

Contacts updates

When enabled, contact details in your database are automatically updated and synced with the latest information provided by Propel.

By configuring these settings, firms can control outreach frequency, ensure compliance, encourage collaboration, and maintain up-to-date contact records — all of which contribute to more efficient PR operations.
