What Are Contact Updates in Firm Settings?
The Contact Updates setting helps keep your media database accurate and up to date automatically.
When enabled, Propel matches the email addresses of journalists you upload against our database. If we receive verified new information about those contacts, such as a new email address, updated outlet affiliation, or other profile changes, we automatically update the journalist records in your account.
This setting is turned on by default for all accounts.
You may want to disable Contact Updates if you prefer to maintain your contact records manually and do not want Propel to modify any information you have uploaded.
When Contact Updates are turned off:
- Propel will not apply future updates to your uploaded contacts.
- Contact information will remain exactly as it was uploaded or manually edited by your team.
- New journalist information received by Propel will not overwrite your existing records.
- Click on your avatar in the top navigation bar.
- Then click on Settings and then navigate to Firm Settings.
- Toggle the Contact Updates setting On or Off.
- Save your changes.
