Steps to Create an Online and Print Monitoring Alert:
Navigate to the Monitor Tab: Log in to your Propel account and click on the Monitor tab in the top navigation bar.
Create a New Alert: Click on the Plus icon.
Enter Alert Name and Account: Enter a relevant name for your alert in the Alert Name field, and select the related account.
Select the Monitoring Type: In the alert setup page, under the Online and Print tab, you will find various options to customize your alert. This includes specifying sources like blogs, forums, print media, videos, podcasts, etc.
Set Your Sources: Use the drop-down menu to select your preferred news sources. We suggest selecting All for the best results. You can choose multiple categories or focus on a specific type of source depending on your monitoring needs.
Configure Blocked Sites: If there are any sources you want to exclude, enter them in the Blocked Sites field. This ensures that certain outlets or websites won’t trigger an alert.
Set the Coverage Start Date: Enter the date from which you’d like to begin tracking coverage. You can specify past dates to include historical mentions.
Grouping Mentions: To consolidate results, you can group syndicated coverage. Toggle the Group Mentions option to manage this setting.
Query and Crisis Communication Alert: In the Query field, enter the key search terms or phrases you want to monitor. If you are tracking a potentially sensitive issue, you can also enable the Crisis Communication Alert to prioritize urgent notifications.
Save Your Alert: Once all details are filled in, click Save and Finish to finalize your alert settings.
You can always refine or edit your existing alerts by returning to the “Monitor” tab and clicking the Edit icon next to the relevant alert.
Please note that for Online and Print monitoring, you can choose to start coverage monitoring from a past date. However, for Social and Broadcast, you only start tracking from the present or a future date.
